Dr Bridget Durning is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Planning in the Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment at Oxford Brookes University.  As an experienced sustainability consultant and academic she has been involved in research and consultancy in the public and private sectors as well as academia for over 20 years. Her main research interests are: environmental impact assessment (ESIA) and environmental management (EM) – their relationship and interconnection; the interaction between geosciences and society; skills and knowledge development in professionals.

Bridget teaches courses relating to environmental impact assessment and management and the tools and processes used.  She is module leader for Environmental Management Systems module delivered through the MSc in Environmental Assessment and Management and also for the Environmental Sustainability module, a first year undergraduate module.  Although delivered through the Department of Planning this module attracts over 100+ students each year from across the university due to the high relevance of the subject to modern society.
